Books similar to National Treasure 1 or 2?

Not necessarily about finding treasure but more linking clues from history to figure out something. I'm looking for books that involve some real events in time. Maybe dealing with past presidents, national monuments, doents or conspiracies. I'd like some books other than The Da Vinci Code please.
