Where do I stand legally?

I work as a Nurse in a GP surgery, I am also a patient in the same surgery (have been all my life). Recently I went to see one of the GPs as a patient, the next day 2 of the receptionists accessed my consultation and gossipped and spread the information around the rest of the office staff! The practice manager brought this to my attention. I then went to the senior GP in the surgery and informed him of what had happened. First of all he said ' well that's the problem with being a patient and staff member here! Then said he would look into this and deal with it. He spoke to the practice manager who confirmed what I had told him. 3 months later at a practice meeting he generally reminded all reception staff of the need for confidentiality and said " if you are going to look at consultations - just remember to keep what you read to yourself" He has not spoken directly to the 2 receptionists and feels that the issue has been dealt with! I on the other hand am thoroughly dissatisfied with this and would like to know what do I do now?
