What can i do to make sure i drive my car safely and never have an accident?

i just reinstated my license two weeks ago( dui three years ago)and been driven a 2002 ford excursion for a week to get ready to drive my 1962 ford galaxie that weighs three tons and doesnt have power steerin or brakes. i told my parents that i wont ever go past 30-40 mph even on the highway. what are other tips i need to consider when driving my old school tank that all steel and aint got ac or radio
